WASHINGTON, Ohio (WOUB)- The Miami Trace Panthers (6-1, 2-0 FAC) honored their seniors in a special way, dominating McClain (1-6, 0-2 FAC) in a 41-10 win.

Miami Trace’s domination began on the opening kickoff, when Austin Brown returned it to the McClain 38 yard line. This return allowed Julian Baker to lead the way and score a 4-yard rushing touchdown.

McClain took the ball and marched into the Panther red zone, but they were forced to settle for a 29-yard field goal to make the score 7-3.

On their next drive, Miami Trace had several big plays called back by penalties. However, senior quarterback Trey Robinette made sure one would stick, finding Gaige Stuckey for a 68-yard passing touchdown.

Miami Trace would get the ball back quickly when lineman Tyler Stevens recovered a bad Tiger snap. The Panthers would take advantage of this when Trey Robinette hit Stuckey for another touchdown, this time from 23 yards out. Senior Gaige Stuckey finished with three catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns.

The Miami Trace defense did not let up, sacking McClain quarterback Hudson Lovett in the end zone for a safety. The offense fed off this momentum, scoring another touchdown thanks to a 12-yard Evan Colgrove rush.

The Panther special teams unit kept the momentum going by forcing a fumble on the kickoff return. This gave the ball back to Robinette, who scored his third touchdown of the day with a 16-yard pass to Austin Brown. Robinette led the Panther offense, making ten out of his eleven passing attempts for 195 yards and three touchdowns.

The Miami Trace defense continued to dominate, forcing their third fumble of the night. As with every drive in the first half, Miami Traced cashed in, this time with a 12-yard rush by Julian Baker to go up 44-3 at halftime.

The second half was played with a running clock. However, McClain would not go down easily. In the fourth quarter, running back Owen Sykes punched in a 4-yard touchdown to make the score 44-10.

Next week, McClain will face Chillicothe (0-7) in a game where both teams could secure their first conference win.

Meanwhile, the Miami Trace Panthers have their biggest game of the season next week, playing Jackson (5-2) in a game with major FAC title implications.
