RACINE, Ohio (WOUB)–  The Waterford Wildcats (4-2) traveled to face the Southern Tornadoes (1-5) in some TVC-Hocking action. It would be a one-sided contest, with Waterford winning 47-0.

Kicking things off, Southern would take the ball first, picking up a first down on its second drive of the game. However, Southern’s luck would run out there, as the next play, a Waterford defender picked off the ball.

Quickly moving their way down the field, the Wildcats would find their way into the red zone. Junior QB Avery Pottmeyer saw his opening through the center for his first touchdown of the night.

From there, Southern would struggle to string anything together, turning the ball back over to Waterford. Cameron Johnson would dance down the Wildcat sideline into the end zone for another touchdown, bringing them ahead 13-0 early in the first quarter.

Back on the ball, the Tornadoes were looking to throw. Sadly, the pass by Nathan Schuster would be incomplete to Wyatt Templeton, forcing a punt on fourth down at the 35-yard line. From there, Waterford’s Hayden Jones would pick the ball up around the 45. A wide-open pass intended for Weston Fairchild would be incomplete. However, that wouldn’t discourage the Wildcats as Fairchild would once again find himself unguarded in the end zone, upping the score once more to 20-0.

From there, Waterford would run away with the game, adding another four touchdowns before eventually taking the game, 47-0.

Waterford will be on the road next Friday against Federal Hocking and Southern will travel to Belpre.
