Boogie on the Bricks returns to Court Street Saturday

ATHENS, Ohio — Boogie on the Bricks, Athens’ free community music and arts festival, returns to Court Street on Saturday, June 13 for a full day of live music, local food and family activities.
The festival runs from noon to 10 p.m. and takes place on Court Street between Washington and State streets. Admission is free, and organizers say no tickets or wristbands are required.
Seven acts will perform on the Court Street stage: Nick Tolford & Company, DUNE, Darrin Hacquard, Ready Aim Flowers, Biester & Company with a surprise guest, Wished Bone and Mister E. Local musician Mike Rutushin, known for fronting Larry Elefante, will emcee the event. Dewey Decibel will handle stage and sound production.
Food vendors include Schmidt’s Sausage Truck, Dr. May’s Thai Kitchen, Hot Diggity Dog, Stephen’s Cotton Candy & Lemonade Shake-Ups, OBB – Official Beverage Bar, Rhythm & Food, A-Town Pies and Fries, Burrito Buggy and Bob’s Backyard Bar-B-Q. The festival falls within Athens’ Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, so attendees may carry drinks purchased from area bars throughout the event.
A community marketplace will feature local makers and small businesses, including Cricket Jones Jewelry, Dancing Hands Hairwraps & Macrame, The Whimsy Post, Lena Draws, Neurodivergent Compass and The Fan Cave.
The event remains family-friendly. Mister E opens the show at noon with a set curated for children, and the Kid Zone returns with a bounce house, face painting by A Brush of Whimsy and interactive activities from noon until 6 p.m.
Community partners supporting the festival include the Athens Tavern Association, the Athens Artists Project, Go Bus, Lynx Properties, Memorial Health System, Athens Eye Care – Dr. Shane Foster & Associates, the Athens County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Jackie O’s, O’Betty’s Red Hot! and Insomnia Cookies.
