Python Freed in Athens County Trailer Park
< < Back to python-freed-athens-county-trailer-parkResidents of the Sand Stone Trailer Park off State Route 691 in Athens County should watch where they step.
One of the residents at the park told Sheriff's Deputy Chris Tomsha that she released a four-and-a-half foot python outside her home.
In an email to the media from Sheriff Pat Kelly, the woman is described as saying she didn't want a hungry python in her house and she hoped to run over it with a lawn mower later.
The email said the owner of the park, ODNR and individuals knowledgable in snake handling have been notified.
Kelly said he was not one of those knowledgeable about snakes.
Tomsha has been tasked with following up on the case.
