Heat Advisory For Friday Afternoon
< < Back to heat-advisory-friday-afternoonThe National Weather Service has issued yet another heat advisory for Athens and surrounding counties for Friday afternoon.
That advisory will be in effect from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
While the heat index is about 10 degrees less than experienced throughout the region during the last two days the heat could make it dangerous to perform outdoor activities during the afternoon.
The heat could also be dangerous for those without air conditioning.
The NWS advises residents to again:
Drink plenty of fluids
Stay out of the sun and heat
Check on neighbors who might be at risk
Call for help if experiencing symptoms of heat stroke
Move into a cooler environment if overheated.
