Retired Teacher Charged With Hitting Special Needs Student

WSAZ-TV reports that police charged former Ripley Elementary art teacher Vicki Shockey on Tuesday.
Shockey is accused of hitting a student in late February. She retired at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.
The student's father, John Williams, tells WSAZ that his 11-year-old autistic son was struck when he didn't follow Shockey's directions.
Shockey declined to comment.
