Three Arrested In Scioto County On Drug Charges
< < Back to three-arrest-scioto-county-drug-chargesThree residents of Lucasville have been arrested by Scioto County deputies for possessing chemicals to manufacture methamphetamine.
According to Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini, the deputies were responding to an alleged burglary in process and observed a suspicious vehicle in the area occupied by Joseph L. Hagler, 31, Harold L. Hamby, 42, and Jackie D. Newsome, 41.
Upon search of the vehicle, deputies say they found equipment and chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine, including an oxygen cylinder containing anhydrous ammonia, a drain opener, lithium batteries, coffee filters, and other assorted equipment.
According to a press release, Hagler, Hamby, and Newsome were charged with Illegal Assembly or Possesion for the Manufacture of Drugs, a 3rd degree felony.
Additionally, Hagler was charged with Fleeing & Eluding, a 4th degree felony, Obstructing Justice, a 5th degree felony, and several misdemeanor traffic offenses.
Hamby also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, which was issued by the Portsmouth Municipal Court.
Hagler, Hamby, and Newsome were placed in the Scioto County Jail and are each being held on a $10,000 bond.
They were arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday.
