Homeowners Asked To Remove Docks From Buckeye Lake

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has said the 4.1-mile earthen dam is at risk of failing because it’s been weakened by about 370 homes and other structures built into it.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says docks not removed at the owners’ expense by Nov. 1 will be dismantled by construction crews and stored for two months in case owners want to claim those materials.
A department spokeswoman says that would be considered part of the project’s cost and owners won’t be charged, but the state can’t guarantee the condition of the dismantled materials.
