< < Back to ohio-finishes-ninth-wolf-run-invitationalThe Ohio University Men’s Golf team completed the Wolf Run Invitational on Sunday, finishing ninth out of 14 teams with a 912 composite score (+60).
The Bobcats best golf came in the second round on Saturday, when it carded an overall 291 score, led by freshman Peyton White’s three-under 68, and left the Bobcats sitting in fourth place with one round to play.
However, Ohio struggled mightily on Sunday, posting a 30-over 314 overall score, which dropped them from fourth to ninth in the team standings. In that third round, the Bobcats were led by Peyton White’s five-over 76, and Andrew Mlynarski’s six-over 77.
The only freshman that played for the Bobcats, White turned in his first career top-10 finish, coming in tied for seventh, with his six-over 219 overall score, and it came in just his second career tournament.
Mlynarski followed up his top-20 finish from the Marshall Invitational by shooting a 15-over 228, which was the second best overall score on the team. Through the second round on Saturday, Mlynarski was also top-20 in the number of birdies with six.
Wolf Run also marked the first tournament action for Connor Coldwater, who carded an overall 17-over 230, including a one-over 72 in round two. The senior from Clarks Summit, Pa, did not participate in the Marshall Invitational because of a minor knee injury.
Sophomore Brad Burgess and senior Brad Lucas also participated in the tournament for Ohio, and struggled a bit throughout. Burgess shot a 241 (+28), with his lowest score being a six-over 77 in round two, and Lucas shot a 242 (+29), including a six-over 77 of his own in round one.
Ohio is off this week, and returns to the course on Monday, Oct. 7, for the Firestone Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
