Kirstein Named Dean Of New OU Medical School Campus
< < Back toThe Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine has hired Isaac J. Kirstein as the dean of its new campus in Dublin, Ohio.
Kirstein is an internal medicine physician who will "lead college efforts on all aspects of building the new program, which will become its charter class of 32 medical students in July 2015," according to a release from Ohio University.
"Our efforts in the development of this campus are part of our plan to evolve the model of training primary care physicians and in turn to transformt the delivery of primary care," said Kenneth H. Johnson, executive dean of the Heritage College. "Isaac is a leader nationally in osteopathic medical education and a strong advocate for primary care."
Kirstein most recently served as vice president of medical affairs and chief medical officer at Franciscan St. James Health in Chicago Heights, Ill.
Kirstein is a graduate of Midwestern University – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Olympia Fields Regional Osteopathic Hospital and Health Center in Chicago.
