OHSAA Releases Latest Computer Ratings
< < Back to ohsaa-releases-latest-computer-ratings-3The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its latest set of computer ratings ahead of week nine competition. Several teams from within our coverage area are ranked.
With the exception of division I, the top eight teams from each region will qualify for the playoffs.
Division II, region five
Despite its second consecutive loss, Logan (6-2) fell only one spot from last week’s ratings, sitting in seventh place with a 14.2875 rating. Tri-Valley (7-1) moved up one spot to eighth with its 13.7125 rating after shutting down Sheridan on Friday.
Division III, region nine
Jackson (7-1) remains No. 1 in the region after routing Meigs on Friday, earning a 17.1 rating. Towards the bottom of the region, Sheridan’s (5-3) loss dropped it from eighth to 11th with a 9.525 rating, leaving the Generals outside of the playoff picture.
Division IV, region 13
Maysville’s (7-1) rout of John Glenn bumped it up to sixth place with a rating of 11.0. Two spots behind the Panthers sit the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs (5-3), whose shutout loss to Hamilton Township dropped them to eighth place with a 10.775 rating.
Division V, region 17
Once again, Zane Trace (8-0) is the region’s top dog with am 18.0125 rating. Two spots behind Zane Trace sits Alexander (7-1) whose third place spot remains unchanged with a 14.3275 rating. Down in eighth place, River Valley’s (6-2) bounce-back win earned it a 8.892 rating and helped it maintain its position in the region.
Division VII, region 25
Trimble (7-1) is riding a seven-game winning streak, keeping the Tomcats atop the region with their 12.8625 rating. Belpre (6-2) maintained its spot in fourth place, earning an 8.6351 rating. Miller (6-2) bounced back against Federal Hocking to keep its playoff hopes alive, hanging on to the seventh spot with a 6.9684 rating. Waterford’s (4-4) win over Southern kept its postseason hopes attainable with the Wildcats maintaining its 10th position with a 5.6 rating.
Lastly, after flying by Wahama, South Gallia (4-4) now finds itself ranked 12th with a 4.55 rating.
