White Wins MAC Golfer Of The Week
< < Back to white-wins-mac-golfer-weekFreshman standout Peyton White was named Mid-American Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week on Thursday, following his strong performance at the Cobra-Puma Invitational on Oct. 27 and 28.
This marks the second time in White’s short collegiate career that he has received the honor, after he was named golfer of the week following his performance at the Wolf Run Invitational in late September.
White also notched a 10th place individual finish at the Cobra-Puma, his second top-10 finish in four career starts, with the other also coming at Wolf Run.
White led the Bobcats to a season-best team score in the third round of the Cobra-Puma, shooting a four-under-par 68 on his way to his best 54-hole score of his career of 215 (-1). White also finished with 15 birdies, which was the third most in the tournament.
As the fall portion of the Bobcats schedule has ended, White finds himself leading the team with a 72.58 stroke average, which is also good for second-best in the MAC.
White and the Bobcats will return to action on Feb. 8, 2014, when they travel south again for a match against Bowling Green at Bay Hill Country Club in Orlando, Fla.
