Kaminski Leads Way for Bobcats against Ohio Dominican

An impressive offensive performance led by the hot hand of Kenny Kaminski helped Ohio basketball snag its sixth win of the year over Ohio Dominican 93-69 on Tuesday.
The Bobcats shot 52 percent overall and 63 percent in the second half. Defensively, they held the Panthers to just 41 percent from the field.
Kaminski led all scorers in the game with 31 points, 24of which came from 3-point land. The Panthers struggled defending him all night, as he went 8-11 from three and scored from all over the court. He also pulled down four rebounds.
The long ball was a game-long trend for both teams. The Bobcats went 11-21 from 3-point range, and though they only shot 32 percent, the Panthers scored 27 points on 30 shots from long range. Ohio Dominican hung around for a while due to stretches of good shooting, but better shooting from the Bobcats ultimately gave Ohio the upper hand.
Along with efficient 3-point shooting, the Green and White got the job done at the stripe. Ohio was in the bonus for over 22 and a half minutes of game time, and converted 28 of 32 free throws.
Kaminski wasn’t the only Bobcat that had a big night offensively. Jaaron Simmons dished out 10 assists, maintaining his reputation as one of the premier assist-men in the NCAA. He reached double-digit assists for the second time this season, and recorded a double-double after totaling 10 points on the night.
Tony Campbell also had a double-double for Ohio, his second in two games. He nabbed 11 rebounds and scored 18 points, once again displaying his physicality while converting several and-one opportunities.
Jordan Dartis scored 15 points for the second game in a row. Notorious for his 3-point shooting, the freshman proved he can score from all areas of the floor, hitting all eight of his free throws and going 3-6 from the field.
The Panthers only had two scorers in double-digits in Trent Weaver and Michael Simon, who each recorded 18 points in the contest.
Turnovers were almost a non-factor against the Panthers as the Green and White only committed six in the game, down from 12 in Saturday’s contest.
After handing Ohio Dominican its seventh straight loss, Ohio continues its four game home stand when it takes on Jackson State on Thursday at 7 PM.
