Wanted McArthur Man on Loose after Police Chase

Local police officials are hoping the public can help locate a McArthur man on the loose after a chase with law enforcement.

Gary "Michael" Lemay, 29, is wanted on several arrest warrants from the Vinton County Sheriff's Office.

According to a McArthur Police Department report, officials recently found that Lemay was living in Hotel McArthur. When law enforcement went to the hotel on Friday, Dec. 20, Lemay reportedly fled the building.

Police chased after him but ended the pursuit, citing public and officer safety concerns.

Lemay was last seen on foot in an alley behind Standard Hardware and moving north toward East High Street, the report states.

He is reportedly considered to be a danger to himself and others.

Police are urging residents with any information on Lemay's whereabouts to contact the Vinton County Sheriff's Office at 596-5242.
