Businesswoman Joins OU Board of Trustees
< < Back toA Ohio University alum and businesswoman is the newest member of the university’s Board of Trustees.
Diane Smullen was appointed by Governor John Kasich, effective July 27, according to a release from the governor’s office.
Smullen is a 1992 graduate of Ohio University, where she earned a degree in accounting and finance. She is the vice president of finance for Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, the university stated in a press release on Thursday.
“We are delighted with the appointment of Ms. Smullen to the Ohio University Board of Trustees,” Board of Trustees Chair David Wolfort said in the release. “Her vast experience in accounting and technology make her an excellent choice.”
Smullen was already a member of the Executive Advisory Board within the Patton College of Business, which she joined in 2009. She and her husband established a university scholarship in 2014 as well.
Before joining Cameron Mitchell Restaurants, Smullen was a controller of Herberts Powder Coatings, Inc., and an accountant for Deloitte & Touche, LLP.
Her first meeting as a board member will be the board’s next meeting in August at OU’s Dublin campus. Her term is set to last until May 2025.
