Ohio Field Hockey Loses Fifth Straight to Cornell
< < Back to 166298After losing four straight, the Bobcats went into their game against Cornell looking to find a way out of their slump. However, they fell to the Big Red who was the better team all game, 2-1.
For the first 50 minutes, the Bobcats managed to stay afloat keeping Cornell out of the goal. That all changed in the 52nd minute when Katie Carlson scored her second goal of the season. Where there is one there is often another and just three minutes later it was Isabel Joseph’s turn, scoring her first goal of the season to secure the lead and the game for Cornell.
Kendall Ballard was able to score for the Bobcats in the 68th minute but it was too little too late. Even with the loss, goalkeeper Lina Trucco was the star of the game for the Bobcats making saves and keeping the ‘Cats in the game until the very end. In the end the Bobcats were simply unable to keep up on either end, allowing 17 shots, including 10 on goal.
With five straight losses, the Bobcats need a win and will get their next chance on Sunday when they face Towson at Johnny Unitas Stadium at 12 p.m.
