HHACA Fall Arts And Crafts Show Oct. 1-2
< < Back to hocking-hills-artists-and-craftsmen-association-fall-arts-and-crafts-show-oct-1-2The Hocking Hills Artists and Craftmen Association (HHACA) has moved this year’s annual Fall Arts and Crafts Show to the first weekend in October, in what is anticipated to be a one-time schedule change.
This year’s show is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday Oct. 2, at the Hocking Hills Dining Lodge, 20020 State Route 664 South, in the scenic Hocking Hills near Old Man’s Cave. Next year’s show will resume the last weekend in September, the same as in recent years.
“This is the first time in 44 years that the Fall Arts and Crafts Show has been held during the first weekend in October, and we want to let our loyal visitors know so that they have optimal time to prepare and make plans,” said Spirit Williams, president of the HHACA. “We have visitors who schedule their stay in the Hocking Hills to coincide with our show. October is a great time to visit the Hocking Hills because it’s nice to see the tree leaves start to turn color. And anyone looking for a special event during their stay in the hills the first weekend in October should come see us for the first time.”
More than 30 artists and craftsmen will showcase a diverse selection of quality handmade items for sale, including jewelry, painting, ceramics, wood sculpture, basketry, woodworking and more.
Each year one member of the HHACA donates a piece of their artwork for a raffle. This year Nick Delmatto is offering a glass-blown piece of art. Delmatto is a well-known glass maker, whose pieces have even been featured in the Toledo Museum of Art. Every visitor to the Fall Arts and Crafts Show is eligible to sign up for the raffle, which is free. The winning ticket will be drawn at the close of the show. Participants aren’t required to be present to win.
The Hocking Hills Artists and Craftsmen Association is an outstanding example of the variety of authentic arts and crafts found in Ohio’s Appalachian region,” said Karen Raymore, executive director of the Hocking Hills Tourism Association, which supports the annual event with a grant. “Winning a Nick Delmatto original work of art is just another incentive to put this event on your ‘do not miss’ list.”
The scenic Hocking Hills Dining Lodge has a full restaurant with award-winning food and is handicap accessible. Admission to the show, including parking, is free. For more information, please visit www.hhaca.com or contact Spirit Williams at 740-385-8245.
