Another Round Of Winter Weather To Whack Area Sunday-Monday
< < Back to another-round-winter-weather-whack-area-sunday-mondaySeveral inches of sleet and snow are expected through Southeast Ohio beginning Sunday in what is being described as a "prolonged event."
Because of that the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Southeast Ohio from Sunday through Monday afternoon.
The watch includes western West Virginia and northeast Kentucky.
A quarter inch of ice topped with four inches of snow and sleet are expected to make travel difficult and dangerous through that period.
Ice build-up on power lines may cause electrical service interruptions.
The winter has already been expensive for homeowners, businesses and insurers.
The cost for broken pipes and other freeze-related damage from January's polar vortex event is expected to top $120 million.
