Michalski Lights Up Marietta Pitchers, Pioneers Fall In Home Opener

Both pitching staff’s struggled on the day. The 22 runs given up, all of which were earned, were scored on 30 hits.
Thursday’s game was the first time that the Pioneers have given up 10 or more runs this season and was just the sixth game that they have given up more than four.
D.J. Michalski proved to be a tough out for the Marietta pitching staff. Michalski went 4 for 6 with six RBIs.
The Marietta Pioneers (11-5, 2-0) will look to rebound when they play host to Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday for a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
