Kellogg Looks Forward To Life Beyond Ohio
< < Back to kellogg-looks-forward-life-beyond-ohioAfter the conclusion of his senior season in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament quarterfinals, Nick Kellogg of the Ohio men’s basketball team has his eyes set on continuing his playing career.
Kellogg competed in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament April 16-19 in Portsmouth, Va., with another opportunity to display his talents to scouts and others alike.
“It was a really good experience,” Kellogg said. “There were a lot of scouts there; a lot of good players and it was just an honor and a blessing to have that opportunity to showcase my game.”
In his senior season as a Bobcat, Kellogg averaged 15.5 points per game, 3.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists, with a field goal percentage at just over 46 percent – all good enough for career bests.
Now, the MAC’s all-time leader in 3-pointers made is prepping for a potential professional basketball career.
“I’m going to continue to workout,” Kellogg said. “Maybe a couple of NBA workouts and just try and continue to build my stock and keep getting ready for becoming a professional basketball player.”
And although he will not be in the Green and White next season, Kellogg believes the Ohio men’s basketball team will be in great hands with new head coach Saul Phillips.
“I’m looking forward to what he’s going to bring,” Kellogg said. “I’m happy for the guys, I’m happy for him because I think it is going to be a good situation for Ohio.”
Kellogg plans to sign with an agent in the next few weeks and continue to workout in preparation for what the future holds.
“You never know when you’re going to get your opportunity,” Kellogg said. “So, if you get called on, you can be ready.”
