What better way to commemorate the most romantic day of the year than with an intricate paper Valentine?

Although one might associate Valentines with the little rectangular boxes of Wishbone cards you begged your parents for back in February of ’98, the tradition of giving something small, ephemeral, and visually stimulating to your sweetie pie on Feb. 14 has been a tradition for decades.

Currently on display at the Decorative Arts Center of Ohio, located in the Historic Reese-Peters House in Lancaster are a series of vintage Valentines from the collection of George Johnson. The display is up through the end of the month.
