Drug Operation is shutdown in Perry County

CROOKSVILLE – More than 16 pounds of marijuana were seized from an indoor grow operation by the Perry County Sheriff's Office after an investigation in conjunction with the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force and the Ohio Investigative Unit and Liquor Control Division.
The Zanesville Time Recorder reports that after police learned of a large party consisting of underage people drinking alcohol at a home on Township Road 325 in Crooksville, they obtained a search warrant for the residence.
Upon an initial search of the property, authorities discovered a marijuana grow operation in a shed. Narcotics detectives seized 70 marijuana plants as well as an unspecified quantity of processed marijuana. The street value is estimated by the authorities to be $40,000.
40-year-old Jeremy Eveland was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana in the presence of a juvenile. This second-degree felony could carry up to a two to eight year prison sentence and a $15,000 fine. Perry County authorities expect additional charges to be filed.
