Trimble Can’t Comeback Against South Webster

Tyler Slack nailed a three for Trimble. South Webster’s full-court inbound pass was intercepted by Trimble and Cameron Kittle putback a missed three. The Jeeps led 47-40, but it seemed like Trimble saved up a little comeback magic.
The magic soon ran out.
Shiloah Blevins and Alek Blevins put out the Trimble run. Alek Blevins missed eight of the 13 shots- his first six from inside the arc and first two from three- but came in when it mattered the most in South Webster’s 57-47 win over Trimble.
Alek scored a late transition bucket and helped seal the deal with two rebounds from missed free throws.
Alek Blevins scored his 15 points late, but Shiloah Blevins was scoring all game. Shiloah scored 11 of South Webster’s first half points and a game-high 17 points overall.
Max Hooper quickly scored four points for the Tomcats in the fourth quarter and they continued to cut the lead. Trimble, who was down by as many as fifteen in the quarter, cut the deficit to just seven in the quarter.
The seven-point lead never went away for South Webster. That is when Alek Blevins stopped the Tomcat party. Trimble had chances when the Jeeps missed two free throws late, but Alek crashed and scooped the rebounds up, the final two of his seven rebounds.
Howie Caldwell’s Trimble Tomcats finish the season at 14-10. The Tomcats will lose three seniors- Dylan Carano, Ryan Richards and Slack- next season. Slack led the Tomcats with 14 points on Wednesday.
South Webster (16-9) advanced to the District Final with the win. The Jeeps will see the top-seeded Clay Panthers on Saturday at the Convocation Center.
