White Wins MAC Co-Golfer of the Week
< < Back to white-wins-mac-co-golfer-of-the-weekOhio senior men’s golfer Peyton White has been named the Mid-American Conference Co-Golfer of the Week. He shares the honor with Kent State senior Josh Whalen. This marks the second time in 2016-17 White has earned such honors and his sixth time in his career.
White made history for Ohio when he won the 2017 Mission Inn Spring Spectacular on Sunday, March 19. White finished with a score of 215(-1) and earned the first outright victory his college career. That wasn’t the only first, though. It was also the first time a Bobcat earned individual medalist honors since Mark Cimarolli won the Big East/MAC Challenge in 2005. White’s first place finish helped Ohio finish fifth. As a team, the Bobcats had a total score of 901(+37). The Mission Inn Spring Spectacular was Ohio’s only event in March.
The Bobcats will compete next in the Redhawk Invitational April 3-4 in Chambers Bay, Wash.
