Report: Crute Not With Ohio Men’s Basketball Team
< < Back to report-crute-not-ohio-mens-basketball-teamOhio guard Kendall Crute is currently away from the Ohio men’s basketball team, according to a report from Jason Arkley of the Athens Messenger.
The Georgia native has returned home to deal with what coach Saul Phillips described to Arkley as “personal issues.” As of now, it is unclear if and when Crute will return to the team. Crute has not requested a release from his scholarship.
Crute, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, signed on with Ohio as one of four members of the Bobcats’ 2014 recruiting class. Of the four members in the class, though, Crute was the only hold over from former coach Jim Christian, as Crute signed with Ohio in November 2013 while Christian was still coaching the Bobcats.
Ohio currently has 12 scholarship players including Crute. If Crute should decide not to return to Ohio, it will free up another scholarship slot, giving the team two open slots.
