Following the retirement notice submitted by Trimble Local Treasurer Cindy Rhonemus last month, the district has now established a timeline and requirements to fill the position.

The Trimble Local Board of Education personnel committee meet earlier this week to discuss the pending job opening as Rhonemus’ retirement becomes effective on Dec. 1.

A tentative timeline for the position lists the application deadline as Sept. 12 with interviews to begin on Sept. 30. Action on the employment of a new treasurer for the district is expected at the Oct. 21 board meeting.

The brochure advertising the job posted on the district’s website provides details of the position, the job duties and requirements, along with information about the district itself. An application form is also available through the website.

While her retirement will not be effective until Dec. 1, Rhonemus stated in her letter of retirement to the board that her last day in the office would be on or around Nov. 7.

When submitting notice of her retirement, Rhonemus stated, “Please know that I will do whatever I can to make it a smooth transition for the new person that you hire to take the treasurer’s position.”

Rhonemus has served as the treasurer for Trimble Local Schools for the past 13 years, having worked for two years in the district prior to that time.

Rhonemus was a recipient of the Auditor of State award earlier this year, marking the first time Trimble Local had received such an award.

This will make the second new administrator hired in by Trimble in 2014 as Scott Christman was hired earlier this year to replace Supt. Kim Jones. Christman officially took over the role of superintendent on Aug. 1.
