Eastern Eagles Stymies South Gallia
< < Back to eastern-eagles-stymies-south-galliaThe Eastern Eagles (2-2) muscled their way to a 40-20 win over the South Gallia Rebels under the lights in Crowning, OH. Both teams entered this game coming off of wins from last week.
Eastern scored the first touchdown of the night early in the first quarter. Josh Brewer brought the ball down the field, but Nate Durst sealed the deal in the end zone.
The Rebels quickly answered back. Kyle Northup received the Eagle’s kickoff and ran the ball for an 85-yard return to put the Rebels on the board.
Northup secured the Rebels one more touchdown before the first half ended.
Though Eastern’s running game was strong, two of their touchdowns in the first half were from passes. Both Sharp Facemyer and Blaise Facemyer made it to the end zone after completed passes from Nate Durst.
Throughout the game, both teams suffered from penalties.
After a hard fought battle, Eastern came out victorious, and hope to continue their three game winning streak on Friday against Waterford. The Rebels didn’t achieve the result that they’d hoped for, but they have a chance to make a comeback against Belpre next Friday.
