Logan And Meigs Seek First Win In Week Three Matchup
< < Back toThe Logan Chieftains (0-2) travel to Meigs County to take on the Marauders (0-2) as both of these teams look to add a one to their win column.
Though the records may be the same, it has been a story of two tales as the Marauders have put up a total of 48 points against their two opponents thus far while the Chieftains have only scored once in two games.
Meigs will definitely be looking to bringing that offensive attack to their home field on Friday and continue the success that they’ve been having on that side of the ball.
On the other side of the ball though, they need to work on their defensive front as they’ve allowed 81 points this season. Minimizing long gains and big plays is a must for the win.
Though the Chieftains may not have the scores to show for it, they have a powerful offense that is ready to do damage with Tyler Cummin and Preston Yates in the backfield. Logan depended heavily on their run game against the Tri-Valley Scotties in week one. In their third week of play, we’ll see if they can add a passing strike into that arsenal to not be as predictable on that side of the ball.
This game is pivotal for both teams to get back into the race for their conference. Logan needs just one win to go ahead of or tie with Warren as both teams have had a rough two weeks and have dropped two going into week three. If Warren were to lose this week, the Chieftains would have the lead in the Southeastern Ohio Conference as it is only the two teams competing for this title.
The Marauders need to win this game to compete with teams such as Alexander, Vinton County, Athens, and Wellston who already have one win under their belt in the TVC-Ohio Conference.
It’s going to come down to who wants it more, as both teams have something to gain and everything to lose as hitting the 0 and 3 marks can be devastating in the chase for their conference title and playoffs.
