Week 5 Power Rankings: MVL

With half of the season down, things are heating up in the MVL. There is a new #1 in the MVL, but the season is far from over, with big games still not played, the conference could be set or reset heading into week six.
Power Rankings
9.
Morgan Raiders (0-5)
It’s been a tough year for the Raiders so far. With an 0-5 start to the season they can only improve this season. The Raiders are looking forward to the rest of the season as they have big games ahead of them.
8.
West Muskingum Tornadoes (1-4)
West Muskingum football is also having a tough start to the season with one win so far. Lamden Murrey is tied for third in receiving yards in the MVL, and you can expect to see a lot more of him because he’s only a junior.
7.
Crooksville Ceramics (1-4)
Crooksville is struggling this season with a 1-2 start in conference play. But they have a shining light with Caden Miller, who is leading the league in passing yards so far.
6.
New Lexington Panthers (4-1)
The Panthers have had a solid 2-1 start in conference play, only losing to Maysville. The strong backbone of Logyn Ratliff and Christian Vance, who is leading the MVL in rushing, New Lexington is looking to move up the power rankings the second half of the season with huge games ahead of them.

Maysville Panthers (2-3)
Maysville has climbed up the power ranking as the season has progressed. Ranked third in the conference for rushing, Easton Smith has really made a difference on the field this season.

Tri-Valley Scotties (3-3)
Ranked #1 in the preseason power rankings, the Scotties aren’t having the season they would’ve hoped for. But with Aiden Fritter under center throwing for over 850 yards on the season, the Scotties are definitely not a team to be taken lightly.

Philo Electrics (3-2)
Philo has a huge chance to shake up the Muskingum Valley League with a win over the Sheridan Generals next week. With Hunter Adolph and Casey Munyan in the backfield, the electrics must feel confident going into the backend of the season.

John Glenn Little Muskies (3-2)
Even with impact players lost to graduation, the Little Muskies have definitely bounced back. Led by seniors Evan Williams, Reece Perkins, and Score Perkins, John Glenn is 2-1 in conference play with a huge win against the Philo Electrics and a tough 13-12 lost against the Sheridan Generals.

Sheridan Generals (4-1)
The Sheridan Generals have a chance to lock down the Muskingum Valley League with a win over Philo next week. The Generals came up with a huge win over John Glenn in week two of conference play and haven’t looked back since. Led by junior Nate Johnson, Sheridan’s season is shaping up to be all that they would’ve hoped for.
