Nathan Shadik led the Bulldogs in commanding fashion as he shot 60% from beyond the arc, hitting 6 three-pointers. He had a game-high 21 points and helped his team in other ways by providing three assists.
Head Coach Mickey Cozart said it took Shadik a minute to warm up. “I told him to just start shooting the ball,” said Cozart. “After a couple went through, things started to fall in place.”
Shadik couldn’t do it all on his own as this win was a team effort. Derrick Welsh contributed nine points but led with a commanding ten rebounds as well as three steals.
The defense is what really set these Bulldogs apart. Kyler D’Augustino for Alexander has had a commanding year on the hardwood. He has scored at least 20 points in every contest so far, but the Bulldogs managed to hold him at just 13.
Alexander started pulling closer towards the end of the fourth quarter before Shadik landed yet another three sparking a 7-0 run for the hosts.
This game comes after two straight losses from the Bulldogs. They look ahead as they take on Logan-Elm on Tuesday, January 18th .
