National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated between September 15 and October 15. It honors the many Latinos who have greatly contributed, influenced, and enriched our culture and society. Celebrate the diverse cultures of Spanish-speaking nations around the world, including the U.S., Mexico, Spain, Caribbean islands, and Central and South American countries with these resources from PBS Kids

Take a Virtual Field Trip to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History

Ready for an adventure? WOUB Public Media is co-presenting a virtual field trip to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History on September 29. There are sessions available at both 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. and the field trip is perfect for families, children at home, after-school programs and other care providers.This field trip will be hosted by the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s education department and includes a behind-the-scenes look at the museum’s operations, exhibits and more. The program is being presented by all of Ohio’s PBS stations as part of the Ohio Learns 360 project.

WOUB Wednesdays

Do you have students interested in a career in communications? WOUB has a virtual event for current college students that we would like to invite interested high school students to join. WOUB Wednesdays gives former WOUB students the opportunity to conduct a virtual conversation with current and prospective students as well as other alumni. This fall’s events kick off on September 14th at 7:30pm with Extra TV Co-Host Jennifer Lahmers who worked at WOUB while she was a student and graduated from Ohio University in 2006.

Throughout the fall semester there will be several former WOUB students scheduled to talk with current students and alumni.

We have received the boxes and are almost ready to start training. We’ve gotten a lot of responses so if you are interested in doing training and receiving a box for each teacher trained in your afterschool or camp program please contact us so we can put our schedule of trainings together.
