Lancers dominate with commanding 76-49 victory over Eagles

STEWART, Ohio (WOUB)- The Federal Hocking Lancers stayed at home to play against the Eastern Eagles. Federal Hocking celebrated military appreciation night by taking the win and ending the game at 76-49.
The first quarter started out strong for the Lancers. They came out onto the court ready to score. Andrew Airhart made three impressive shots from behind the three-point line and one from inside the paint leading the teams points. Federal Hocking ended the quarter ahead with a score of 22-11. During the second quarter, the Lancers were on fire on the offensive end. Tariq Cottrill, Evan McPherson, Mosiah Cottrill, and Andrew Airhart all made at least one shot from behind the arc. With all those three’s, Federal Hocking began to pull further ahead ending the quarter at 48-26.
After the half, both teams began to struggle with their defense. There were multiple turnovers on both sides of the court, but the Lancers offense was still fierce. The third quarter ended with Fed Hock still on top 63-38.
With a 27 point lead coming into the final quarter of the game the Lancers came out ready to secure the win. The Eagles battled hard on both sides of the court to try to comeback, but unfortunately for them Federal Hocking was too far in the lead.
Federal Hocking will travel to the home of the Marietta Tigers (15-2) on Tuesday hoping to continue their winning streak. Eastern will be heading to Waterford (7-8) on Friday
