Algae Signs To Be Posted At Four Southeastern Ohio State Park Lakes

Lake Hope, Lake Alma, Dillon, and Jackson Lake are four of the 14 state parks around Ohio receiving the algae signs.
A spokesperson at the state Department of Natural Resources said the signs will be posted at beaches, boat ramps and marinas at the parks.
Color-coded advisories will also be posted indicating toxin levels higher than acceptable.
An orange sign recommends that people with weak immune systems should not swim or walk through the water. It will also warn elderly and young people.
A red sign advises no one touch the water and will be posted if the algae is attributed to probable cases of human illness or pet deaths.
