UPDATE 1:10 p.m. New numbers from American Electric Power show more than half of Ohio customers' power knocked out by Friday's storm and Sunday's severe weather now have electricity.

Fifty-five percent of the 660,000 had been restored as of Tuesday morning.

In Athens County, 15,000 customers are still without power.  The same number goes for Fairfield County.

Nearby Licking County still has one of the highest numbers, with 31,000 customers powerless.

Numbers are little changed for Muskingum County, about 16,000 power customers are still without electricity.

The latest reports by American Electric Power show almost half of Ohio customers who were previously without power from Friday's storm now have electricity.

Forty-two percent of the 660,000 had been restored as of last night.

In Southeast Ohio, however, the number of customers without power continues to be high.

AEP says Licking County was one of the three hardest hit counties in Ohio: more than 31,000 are still without power there.

In Athens County, more than 17,000 customers are powerless.

And in Muskingum County, nearly 16,000 are heading into the fourth day after the storm without any electricity.

A restoration map shows power customers around Athens can expect electricity by Saturday.

Near Lancaster, the estimated restoration date is Sunday.

And over near Jackson, customers there may have to wait as long as a week from Tuesday.

Power outage and restoration maps are available on AEP's website.
