Anti-Issue 2 Mailer Deemed Potentially Misleading
< < Back to anti-issue-2-mailer-deemed-potentially-misleadingThe Ohio Elections Commission found probable cause Thursday that an anti-Issue 2 ad is misleading.
The Ohio Republican Party put out the mailer that takes aim at the proposal backer's claim that would take partisan politics out of the line-drawing process for congressional and legislative districts.
However, supporters of the proposed constitutional amendment took issue with three bullet points on the ad.
The Commission sided with the pro-Issue 2 group, Voters First, on one of its claims about the proposed new panel that would redraw district lines.
Commissioners said the statement "Some of the members will be chosen in secret" is potentially misleading.
A full hearing is scheduled for Oct. 4.
