Philo Hands Sheridan Another Loss

It has been a rough few games for the Sheridan Generals having lost three consecutive games and now falling to 3-2 in MVL play after falling to the Philo Electrics 31-0. The Generals have been shut out two weeks in a row, both at home, as the stout Electric defense recorded their third shutout of the season to lead Philo to their first win over Sheridan since 2000.
The game started out with fantastic defense from both sides, with neither team being able to make a first down in their first two series, but this was short-lived for the Generals. Philo returned a fumble for a 55-yard touchdown, then after another Sheridan fumble, Nathan Delozier scored a 10-yard touchdown bringing the score to 14-0. Delozier then ran for a 64-yard touchdown on a fourth-and-12. With a field goal from Slade Moore the Electrics were up 24-0 at half. In the second half, with another Delozier touchdown, Philo came out as the dominate force on the field, coasting to the victory.
Delozier had 13 carries on the night for a total of 151 yards and three touchdowns. In addition to Delozier, as a team, Philo had 284 total yards. Sheridan had a total of only 77 yards. The Generals' passing was 4-for-12 for 62 yards which forced them to run the ball. Unfortunately for Sheridan, the rushing game was just as lacking. The Generals had only 15 yards in 40 attempts.
It was Philo who dominated on the field this week, but the Generals hope to turn their game around next week when they play at Maysville. Philo will try to pull out another win next Friday night when they host River View.
