Character Witnesses Testify In Craigslist Murder Trial
< < Back to character-witnesses-testify-craigslist-murder-trialThe defense for an Ohio teenager charged in the shooting deaths of three men lured by phony Craigslist job offers is trying to show he's a person of good character.
The defense for 17-year-old Brogan Rafferty of Stow opened its case Monday at his Akron murder trial.
A defense witness says she met Rafferty when co-defendant Richard Beasley welcomed her into his halfway house.
She says Rafferty was quiet and respectful but seemed different and lifeless last fall, about the time of the slayings.
Other character witnesses also testified that he was respectful and polite.
Prosecutors say Rafferty and Beasley, a self-styled chaplain and the alleged triggerman, targeted men desperate for work with phony Craigslist job ads.
