Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine says more than six in 10 recipients of economic development grants, tax credits and other perks have met the conditions of their state agreements.

The AG's office is charged with watchdogging taxpayer money doled out to improve the economy, to see that businesses keep their promises to expand, add jobs and deliver other returns.

The 63.5 percent compliance rate for agreements with 2011 deadlines represented an increase from 2010, when 59 percent of incentive package recipients met their marks.

Businesses met terms of a total of 162 deals, and failed to meet terms of 93 deals.
