UPDATE 2:01 P.M. Several space heaters were in use in a Fairfield County house before it caught on fire, killing two people early Thursday morning.

According to the Ohio Division of State Fire Marshal's office, investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire that claimed the lives of Milton and Mary Clagg, both 62.

The fire took place on Shell Beach Road in Thornville.

Investigators say many of the electrical outlets had adapters plugged in, allowing for extension cords connected to multiple heaters in the home.

The space heaters were near combustible materials.

The state fire marshal advises against overloading outlets and recommends allowing three feet of space around a space heater.

UPDATE 9:25 A.M. Authorities said a husband and wife in their 60s died in a large house fire in central Ohio.
