Nelsonville Police Officer Faces Felony Charge
< < Back to nelsonville-police-officer-faces-felony-chargeA Nelsonville police officer is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday in Hocking County.
Josh Braglin faces a felony charge of tampering with evidence.
According to Hocking County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Dave Valkinburg deputies were called to the residence of Braglin’s girlfriend, Sheena Bauer, after neighbors reported a verbal domestic disturbance on Jan. 13.
Valkinburg said deputies found Braglin intoxicated and learned he allegedly hid his service pistol before deputies arrived.
Valkinburg said hiding the weapon amounts to tampering with evidence since Braglin was allegedly in possession of the weapon while intoxicated.
Bauer was charged with obstructing justice. According to Valkinburg she has an extensive criminal history.
Braglin’s arraignment is scheduled for 8:15 a.m.
Nelsonville Police Chief Jason Wallace said Braglin has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
