  • The administration building of the Athens Asylum, designed by 26 year old Levi Tucker Scofield of Cleveland, Ohio, was the first work of his extensive professional career. Scofield followed the Thomas Story Kirkbride plan for asylums of that era. The Athens Asylum and associated campus of cottages, cemeteries, and landscaped grounds is the last of its kind in the state of Ohio.
