Good Works Inc. will sponsor the 16^th Annual Good Works WALK on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm. The WALK begins and ends at First United Methodist Church on College St. in uptown Athens, and is for adults and children of all ages. This year, five different interactive experiences have been developed, including a “mini-walk” for people who want to participate but find it difficult to physically walk. All WALK experiences have been developed to creatively inspire and inform participants about the problems people without homes face, and issues of poverty in rural Appalachian Ohio.

The Timothy House is the only shelter for people experiencing homelessness in eight counties, and the financial goal of the WALK is to raise 1/3 of the total operational costs of the Timothy House (or $60,000). January 1^st marked the start of Good Works 38th year of providing shelter to people who experience homelessness in rural Ohio and has provided more than 115, 000 nights of shelter since 1981.
