Culinary Adventures at Home and Abroad (Flavors of Italy)

Join our registered dietitian, Selena Baker, for a cooking class series inspired by the bounty of fresh summer produce and the flavors of her recent travels abroad. During this demonstration, you’ll enjoy a full lunch (or dinner), served course-by-course as Selena and her team of nutrition students share nutrition tips and demonstrate culinary techniques while preparing your meal. Includes recipe packet.
- June 14: Berries – savory and sweet pairings with a variety of the Midwest’s best fruits. Learn to make a balsamic reduction and berry coulis – easy, versatile techniques that add a burst of flavor to a variety of recipes.
- June 21: A Taste of Germany – Selena’s stops in Germany included the home of a friend who’s a fellow foodie (and dietitian!), as well as a gorgeous local outdoor market. Join us to find out where she’ll take your taste buds on this tour of Deutschland.
- June 28: Flavors of Italy – fresh summer produce lends itself to the colorful dishes of Italy. From vegetable-topped polenta and fritatta to a variety of pestos, Selena has brought back dishes that are easy to prepare and that will have you enjoying the flavors of Italy into your own kitchen.
Cost: $20/class; or, $50 for all three. Please pre-register and pre-pay at least 48 hours in advance by calling the WellWorks front desk at: 740-593-2093.
