Our tree canopy is more important than ever. Trees provide ecological, economic and social services to our community. Habitat, cooling, shade and enjoyment are a few of the many benefits. Trees are a critical component of the health of our community. Yet we continue to loose our tree canopy while the city proposes to deregulate the capacity of the Athens Shade Tree Commission to an advisory body. Join this evening of information and learn about the trees around us in our community.
