A weekend head-on crash of two motorcycles caused serious injuries to both drivers and one passenger.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the accident happened on State Route 56 in Hocking County Saturday afternoon when a motorcycle driven by Chris Kraft, 57, of Pickerington went left of center striking another motorcycle driven by John Reed, 53, of Piketon.

Both Kraft and Reed and Kathy Reed, a passenger on Reed's motorcycle, were taken from the site by Medflight.  All had incapacitating injuries.

None of those involved were wearing helmets and both bikes overturned.

A second motorcycle accident just hours later in Hocking County was investigated by the OSHP.

The report said that Brandon Smith, 23, of Logan was taken to Hocking Valley Hospital after losing control of his motorcycle on County Road 14.

Charges are pending against both Kraft in the first accident and Smith in the second accident.
