E-Tour Brings International and Out-of-State Students to OU
< < Back to e-tour-brings-international-and-out-state-students-ouOhio University launched a new e-tour that allows students to view images and facts about the Athens campus from the comfort of their own home.
This online tour highlights popular buildings while offering information about academic and social activities that are available throughout campus.
This new feature is online and available as an app for iPads and iPhones. With its easy access, faculty members say they hope it will attract students that may not be able to travel long distances for a walking tour.
In addition to bridging geographic barriers, the e-tour translates the primary walking tour into Arabic, Chinese and Spanish.
Candace Boeninger, OU Director of Admissions, said this will be helpful in attracting international students and expanding the international community.
Although OU tries to be diverse in inviting students to its campus, the majority visiting the university remains Ohio residents.
Many hope this new tour will spark interest in the university from across the nation.
Future updates to the tour will include collaboration from academic units and specific departments.
