Wahama Powers To Victory Over Pocahontas County, Moves On In Playoffs

Wahama got off to a slow start as Pocahontas County got off to an early 14-6 first quarter lead.
The deficit forced the White Falcons in a position they hadn’t been all season. Wahama was forced to comeback from behind. Adversity proved to be no problem for Wahama though.
Led by Isaac Lee and Anthony Grimm, the White Falcons responded to adversity by scoring 25 consecutive points to take a 31-14 lead in the fourth quarter. Pocahantas County tried to comeback late scoring one final touchdown in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t enough. They failed to get the ensuing onside kick and Wahama went on to win their 11th consecutive game to move onto the second round of the West Virginia playoffs.
Grimm and Lee both had great games for the White Falcons on the night. Grimm finished with 15 carries for 176 yards and two touchdowns while Lee had 73 total yards and two touchdowns. Pocahontas County was led by Doss who finished the game with 34 carries for 104 yards and three touchdowns.
With the win, Wahama lives to fight another day and will now take on Fayetteville in the second round of the West Virginia playoffs.
