Two Southeast Ohio USDA Farm Service Agency offices may close under a plan to streamline operations.

According to Ohio Farm Service Agency State Executive Director Steven Maurer, Meigs County will be consolidated with the Gallia/Lawrence County FSA office and will be located in Gallipolis.

Perry County will also be relocated in Lancaster and will be consolidated with the Fairfield County FSA office.

The proposed closings are a part of the USDA's Blueprint for Stronger Service and is based on President Obama's Administration's Campaign to Cut Waste.

FSA will hold public meetings within 30 days for each county being affected by the changes.
