Three Wide Entertainment is asking a judge for a contempt of court order against the City of Athens.

Three Wide is the company that's been battling the city over a proposed strip club on Stimson Avenue.

The company claims Athens has refused to issue zoning permits for the building despite being ordered to do so by Athens Common Pleas Court Judge Alan Goldsberry.

Three Wide also wants Goldsberry to compel the issuance of the permits and be reimbursed for expenses, including attorney fees.

City Law Director Pat Lang declined to comment on the new development.

The dispute started about four years ago.

Goldsberry ruled in Three Wide's favor last year, overturning actions by the Athens Zoning Board of Appeals to stop the club.
