A Wheelersburg substitute teacher is in jail after officers arrested him for allegedly offering minors money for sexual acts.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty Donini says deputies arrested William Holtzapfel, 30, yesterday in an undercover operation in the Ashley Corner area after monitoring his contact with an underage male student.

Donini says his office received information that Holtzapfel had been approaching male students.

Officers believe there could be more victims in the case.

Holtzapfel is charged with one count of compelling prostitution and appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court today. He is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Donini says more charges are possible.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Jodi Conkel at 740-351-1091.
